This version sucks compared to Manfred Mann's Earth Band's version. Bruce is a good writer but a horrible performer! He can't sing it or play it like Manfred can.
Bruce needs to retire. He has been going downhill since the beginning. Manfred just gets better every year.

You might say, that he's not the best singer, though I personally love his voice and how he uses it, but to say he a horrible performer is just not true. He's the most passionate and hard working musician I've ever seen on stage. He can bring out every single existing emotion in you with the whole band or just a single guitar. He's the role model of a performer and gives everything he has for his audience. And that's hell of a lot!

All that I'm saying that is that Manfred Mann is soooo much better. I feel that Bruce is one of the worst talents ever to hit the stage. Manfred Mann's Earth Band gives his songs everything that they're lacking. Manfred takes everything up 100 steps to a higher standard, not to mention better vocals.
I would much rather go see Doris Day, Barry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, etc. anyday before Springsteen. He needs a few vocal lessons.

Exactly...he wrote Manfred Mann's biggest hits...Manfred may have not wrote them...but he beat the hell out of Bruce when it came to arranging them and performing them! Manfred has extra abilities that Bruce could only dream of!

so he's almost 60 years old and singing day in and day out and it's a live recording of lower qaulity and you're gonna say he can't sing
the man has more uniuqe beautty and power in his voice than just about any other performer it's operatic in form positively breath taking and he's the most energized unstopable performer ever he's so influential on the white stripes and arcade fire...

God of wrath... take a look at his hammersmith odeon versions of this song and rosalita and then try to say that he's a bad preformer. It's precisely his energy on the stage that makes him a good performer. As far as I'm concerned Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band rules, and Manfred Mann's Earth Band sucks...

Well, you have your right to an opinion. I'm not changing though! Take a look at Blinded by the Light. That shit sounds like some folk polka dance for a bunch of 92 year olds.
Manfred Mann's Earth Band took Blinded to #1 back in the late 70's. Bruce is a good writer, I'll give him that...but nothing more! MMEB will always dominate over Springsteen.
Only a handfull of people prefer Bruce over Manfred. I for one, am glad to say that I will pay to see MMEB anytime before Bruce!
