Interesting video though, I've never ran a rigged game before or lied about how to win, and that "2.99" figure was a lil off, it's 3.50 for the 20$ prizes, which cost 30$ at toys are us. Rip off? more like capitalism... it's expensive to run a carnival, and we work damn hard for that 10-25%. So you can support the show or not, it depends on how much you enjoy us coming out to your towns, and if you want to keep the slowly fading carnival tradition of North America alive or not.

Just read this hilarious book by Harmon Leon where he goes out and tries to live the American Dream by walking in many different groups shoes.
In one chapter he went undercover and lived as a carnie in rural Indiana for a month, sleeping in a trailer behind the Tilt-a-Whirl. All the carnies thought he was an undercover cop.

My aunt works as a clown, sometimes at carnivals and such, and she's seen plenty of times when carnies shamelessly take advantage of people. At one such festival, I was playing that 'knock over the bottle pyramid' game, and even when I hit them dead center they didn't even tip. I ended up losing my temper and pitching the ball so hard it bounced off the bottles and smacked the carnie in the back of the head. I didn't get the teddy bear, but it was rather satisfying.

i was raised on a carnival and I can explain the gaf on all the games. the gaf is how a game is rigged.
anyone have a question about a particular game just send me a message. I grew up on carnivals in the 60 and early 70s. those kinds of shows and types of things we could get away with then are long gone.
