Musharraf ends emergency law in Pakistan - 15 Dec 07
Uploaded by: AlJazeeraEnglish
Video Description:
Pakistan's new Supreme Court judges have been sworn in after President Pervez Musharraf lifted the six week state of emergency.
But critics say continued restrictions on the judiciary and media mean that Musharraf can still manipulate January's parliamentary elections.
Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder reports from Islamabad.

I'd like to believe that the "emergency rule" was just that - an emergency (even if miscatagorized) and that democracy will correct any mistakes made. I'm not that hopeful however, as so many laws could be put in place to assure limitations on true democracy and the redistribution of actual power.
We'll see.
