The typical county officer does not deal with happy law abiding citizens. If they cant handle this, they cant handle the areas they will be assigned to in los angeles county. Things can get out of hand, they have to be ready for that.

i will agree things could get out of hand. but if anyone ever yelled at a cop like that the cop would just beat the crap out of him. police are heavily armed, well funded, and usually in top physical condition. i dont see the need to unduly mentally abuse them before they are deemed "ready to serve".

it's not like that backasore...we just don't go around beating every nasty jackass who yells at us (as much as we may want to)...basically the yelling is to see how you preform under stress...you would be surprise how many people just walk away on day one of the academy...this video brings back alot of memories though....good stuff...

These "instructors" are so full of crap. It's no wonder the academy graduates such inept deputies. I guess they figure the rookies have1/4 of their career in the jail system to get seasoned before hitting the streets so let's not teach them anything useful except that being a deputy involves acting like a tool.
