I just saw the movie, and it was amazing. Go see it. In many ways, it is a cautionary tale of what our future might be! Great fun and entertainment, but with a heart of gold and an important cultural and ecological message!

The article cited a book called "The Films of Steven Spielberg" by Douglas Brode, and the IMDb cast page credits Pat Welsh as the voice of ET. There's no mention of any other people named Burtt in the cast.
Burtt did record his wife sleeping for ET's breathing, though, which isn't what I was talking about. I was talking about ET's dialogue and other sounds.

The minute I saw this trailer, I knew WALL•E would be Pixar's best film (and therefore one of the greatest movies of all time). I think it was his eyes that did it (or maybe his voice).

I loved this movie, but I also loved the short movie they passed before Wall-E, the one with the magician and the rabbit, it was hillarious! I would love to see it around. It was a lot of fun!

I'm very worried about the fate of the movie. It's on its way to becoming the least money-making of the Pixar's movies.
I wouldn't count on it but... watching WALL-E marks the first time I believe an animated movie deserves a win an oscar for Best Picture.

well, you never know. Beauty and the Beast was nominated for best picture, wall-e could certainly be nominated but seeing as there's a special category for animated features now, it doesn't really seem possible :[

I remember when this trailer came out and the second I heard him speak his name I was a goner and knew I was going to LOVE this movie! Highly recommended for those that haven't seen it! It's a beautiful movie!

Andrew Stanton is a great writer of Finding Nemo, but when he wrote WALL-E, he proved himself more than a creative genius.
I wouldn't count on it... but watching WALL-E marks the fisrt time I believe an animated film deserves a win for Best Picture Oscar.

If the "Best Animated Picture" category had never come to fruition, then maybe. But a win for "Best Animated Picture" would be very likely, though just a nomination for the category would be a real no-brainer (if you've seen it and understand what a great movie it is first, of course).
