Pakistanis have an extremely short memory. Musharraf has made mistakes in the last year, but in his tenure Pakistan there has been substantial progress. At the end of 2006 it would have been unimaginable for anyone other than PML-Q to win the elections. He held free and fair elections and still people for which he deserves credit.
Now we have the same people that raped pakistan's economy during the 90s back in power. I cant see much progression taking place, but I hope I am wrong.

Its not suprising to see Musharraf lie with such glibness...... there is an energy crisis in Pakistan, frequent power cuts and shortage of water in Punjab ; not to mention queues for wheat.

Pakistan is in tatters BECAUSE of corrupted civillian governments who raped the country for anything it was once worth.Bhutto leeched fortunes and then fled to the UK to escape prosecution yet everyone cheered and chanted her name when she came back to do it all over again.Musharraf on the other hand pulled in money from richer nations and invested it in the country's economy, it's infrastructure... he opened up so many schools where children could be properly educated.

I think you have things the other way around. Pakistan is in tatters becuse 9 years of Musharraf brought instability, terrorism and the worst international reputation to Pakistan. Mush only proved that a bad dictator is worse than any bad politican.
Tennischamp is ... ( 2 months ago by daska66)
Tennischamp is afraid that people will know the truth about dictatorship- you needn;t be. The whole world agrees that a bad politician is still better than a bad dicatator. Look at the instability, terrorism and worst international reputaion Musharraf gave to Pakistan in 9 years of corrupt rule. Terrorism, instability and turmoil is not growth or anything to be proud of.Real Pakistanis will work to build a modern progressive democratic state which will be a model for the world. Pakistan Zindabad
